ABOUT JOINING

How do I become a member?
View our main page PhotographersClub and click on "Join our Group". Your request will be automatically approved. :)

How do I add the club's stamp/icon in my journal?
The stamp can only be added to your journal if you're a subscriber. Copy the "Thumb" code in the bottom right hand corner under the deviation and paste it in your journal.
If you haven't got a subscription then you can just add the club icon in your journal which is just as good :) To add the icon type : iconphotographersclub : without the spaces between the ":".

ABOUT SUBMITTING

How do I submit deviations to the club gallery?

:bulletgreen: You can't submit to the gallery but to the collections. The photos you see in our gallery are the best submissions we received and are selected by a special features team.

:bulletgreen: Information on how to submit to the collections can be found below. Submitting to our collection automatically enters you for a chance to be selected for a gallery feature.

:bulletgreen:First, you must be a member of the club. For information on joining, see section above.

:bulletgreen:PhotographersClub has two submission types: Themes and Freestyle. For theme submissions, the deviation you submit must be your own interpretation of the theme. For freestyle submissions, you may submit any photo you like.

:bulletgreen: To submit, view our main page PhotographersClub or our Collections.

:bulletgreen: Click "Suggest a Fave". (On the favourites page, it should be at the top right hand corner.)

:bulletgreen: Select your gallery

:bulletgreen: In the "Submitting to" dropdown menu, select the current theme (Submissions into featured will NOT be accepted). If there is no dropdown menu, no worries. That means that your submission will automatically go into the correct folder.

:bulletgreen: Select the deviation you would like to submit.

:bulletgreen: After making your selection click OK. :)

:bulletgreen:Please note that we only accept deviations which belong under the Photography Category. Photomanipulations are not allowed!

:bulletgreen:Each member may submit ONE deviation per theme, which is usually once a week.

:bulletgreen:Make sure you enable journal notifications from us to find out what theme we've got each week.

I sent in my submission to the club. Why can't I get a notification in my inbox when it's been added?

:bulletgreen:PhotographersClub accepts submissions as favourites, not as gallery submissions. This is why you will not receive any Accepted/Denied message in your inbox. Just keep browsing the collections for your submission. Due to the great volume of submissions we receive a day, it may take a few days before your submission is added.

:bulletgreen:Only the very best of all submissions received will be added to the gallery as a special feature. These are chosen by the current club moderators individually.

:new:Why can I only submit to favourites and not to the gallery?
PhotographersClub has gone through various methods of submission since we were first established. We had to keep altering them due to our ever-increasing membership volume. If we were to accept gallery submissions, you would be flooded with hundreds of submissions a day. Bear in mind that we have over 10000 members!

Although the once a month method works very well for many clubs, we still wanted to keep the themes going and keep our once a week submissions to have new themes fresh in your minds. The easiest solution would be to accept all submissions from all members into the gallery and risk people unwatching the club and ignoring all of the submissions. If we kept that submission method then members would have very little benefit from submitting at all.

This is why it was decided (after a poll asking what members wanted) that we would accept all fitting submissions into our collections and upload an image in the gallery that linked to all the submissions we received.

The very best submissions we received would then be picked out by a team selected by PhotographersClub. These would be uploaded @ 10 deviations a day. And that's how it works!

If you want your submission to be featured in the gallery, then you would increase your chances by submitting your very best! :)

How often may I submit to the club?
You may submit ONE photo per theme. (Which means once a week, unless we run a theme for more than one week.)

:new:I received a message that I have exceeded my limit of 1 submission a week. What's going on here?
This message is not an error! It just means that your submission went through and that there is no need to submit twice. Because we only accept submissions in our collections and not our gallery, you will not receive a message stating whether it's been accepted or not.

Just browse the collection you have submitted to and you will find your deviation there once it's been approved. Please bear in mind that it may take a little while before a club admin has responded to your request!

Do I have to create a new photo for theme submissions?
No, the photo does not have to be a new one, though we do encourage you to go out and create since themes are there to provide inspiration! If a new photo is required we will state it in our journal.

What is "Freestyle Week"?
Every two weeks, we have "Freestyle Week" where members do not have to submit according to the theme. That week, you can submit any photograph you want. :)

I sent a submission request; why hasn't my deviation been added yet?

:bulletgreen:If you've waited for a day or two and your submission hasn't been added yet, it is likely that we didn't have a chance to add it because your submission is still in queue. If this is the case, please do not re-send your submissions; we'll get to yours as soon as we can.

:bulletgreen:A hint that your submission went through is usually when you receive a message saying that you have already reached your submission limit of 1 deviation per week. You would usually see this message if you try to submit twice.

:bulletgreen: The third possibility is that your deviation was rejected because wither because it was a photomanipulation or it did not fit the theme well enough.

What do you consider a "photomanipulation"? Would that be anything that was heavily manipulated, or just touch-ups/enhancement? I suppose I'm asking if you only accept raw photos, and none that have been touched up a little :]
